Texas Casting call for short film
Roller Slizz: Skate for Your Mate is a comedic short to be shot in December / January 2010/2011 on HD
Synopsis: The fate of a floundering f.m. radio station has been left in the hands of maitre-D.J., S. McDougal, who decides the best way to promote the station is by hosting a skate ‘n’ date mixer at the local rink for single, middle-aged freaks and craigslist weirdos. The story is driven by an ensemble cast of ~10 characters, while the more organic elements will be supplied by the 20 or so extras who come out to compete in the show and interact with the host.
Characters:
El Greco – Male, (35-60); A wacky Greek (?) transient who sells used foodstuff outside of the local roller rink.
Abby – Female, (18-25); The beautiful, intelligent and misguided femme fatale in the custodianship to the Host of Roller Slizz.
Uncle Butter – Male, (50-60); Owner of the local radio station. A southern good ol’ boy who loves his scotch and cigars.
Todd – Male, (35-45); The neurotic manger of Play Pen Roller Rink. Recovering alcoholic, under the thumb of his controlling ex-wife Tina (Who also happens to be his sponsor).
