Film Auditions “Rock Creek”

Snow cancellation make-up auditions have been set for Thursday, February 25 from 5 to 9 PM and Saturday, February 27 from 9 AM to Noon at American University’s Mary Graydon Center, 3rd floor, Weschler Theater, 4400 Massachusetts Ave., NW, Washington, DC, 20016. Parking is available at the garage between the Mary Graydon Center and Bender Arena.

“Rock Creek” is the story of Lupe who becomes unhinged after hearing that her son has been killed while away at war. Shadowy memories dissolve into harrowing nightmares as she is haunted by La Llorona. Twenty years earlier she approached a curandera about illegally immigrating into the US. The curandera predicted that glory awaits the unborn child she is carrying, but not without paying a price. Now Lupe is plagued by the grief and guilt over the decision that seems to have caused her son’s death.

Roles being cast:

Lupe’s sister, Viola, Latina woman, early 40s, outgoing, funny, talkative, speaks Spanish, English with accent.

Lupe’s brother-in-law, Ricardo, Latino male, early 40s, charming, tradesman, interested in sports. Speaks Spanish, English with accent.

Ultra-low Budget SAG Agreement, accepting union and non-union actors.
