Haunted Cabaret Talent Showcase!!
We’re looking for some spooky acts for CCP’s next, cabaret-style talent showcase to be held October 29th and 30th at 8pm and October 31th at 2pm. Depending on your act and availability, it’s possible for you to perform one, two, or all three shows!
What’s your talent?
Do you sing? Play an instrument? Maybe you tap dance? Perform magic tricks? Can you juggle? Are you funny? Maybe you have a secret talent that you’ve always wanted to share but just haven’t worked up the courage? Well… here’s your chance to show us what you’ve got. If you’ve got it… flaunt it! We’re just going to have a fun time!
So, what about auditions?
Glad you asked! The auditions will be held on Saturday, October 16 from 10a-4p, by Appointment Only at the Carmel Community Playhouse at Clay Terrace. The address is 14299 Clay Terrace Boulevard, Carmel, Indiana 46032. You can also check out http://www.carmelplayers.org. Come ready to perform your act(s) just as you would if this were the real deal. You’ll have approximately five minutes to audition. A pianist will be provided (unless you bring your own), we’ll also have a CD player if you bring a track in. If you play an instrument or plan on sawing a person in half, you bring your own guitar or saw (and something to clean up the mess!).
Who can audition?
These auditions are open to any and all who want to perform on our stage. There’s no age limit, height limit, restriction on hair style, or any other criteria – just keep your act (and costume) clean and family-friendly. Speaking of Costumes, this will be during Halloween time so we ENCOURAGE you to dress up, but not mandatory!! Costume is not necessary for the Auditions, just let us know what you’re planning on doing.
I’m not sure what to sing, any ideas?
We would love to keep to the theme of the evening. Check out musicals and movies like “Jekyll & Hyde”, “Little Shop of Horrors”, “Side Show”, “Phantom of the Opera”, “Young Frankenstein the Musical”, “Dracula the Musical”, “The Rocky Horror Show”, “Shrek”, “Sweeney Todd”, “Evil Dead the Musical”, “Zombie Prom”, Buffy the Vampire Slayer’s “Once More with Feeling”, “The Nightmare Before Christmas”, etc.
There are also popular songs out there, like “The Monster Mash”, “Thriller”, “I Put a Spell on You”, “Witchcraft”, “Black Magic”, “Ghostbusters”, “Addams Family”, “Black Magic Woman”, “Frankenstein”, “Devil Went Down to Georgia”, “Purple People Eater”, “Devil with a Blue Dress On”, “Dead Man’s Party”, “Abra Cadabra”, and the list goes on.
Why are we doing this?
This is a fundraiser for Carmel Community Players, and a chance to perform in front of all the family, friends, neighbors and co-workers that we know you’ll invite! And they’ll pay just $10 ($5 for seniors and students (with ID)) to see you do your thing! After the huge success of our Inaugural Talent Show in August, we knew we had to keep this going! And there will be more themed events and other Showcases to come, as well.
