American Idol Auditions 2011 / 2012

Season 11 American Idol Tryouts

The Open calls for American Idol have now been announced for the 2011 / 2012 season of the hit reality singing competition. Open auditions for American Idol will be held in St. Louis, Portland, San Diego, Pittsburgh, Charleston, Denver and Houston.

As always, American Idol picks some gorgeous places to hold auditions around the country and Season 11 is no exception – Auditions will held during the summer months June through August – The Idol audition tour will kick off in St. Louis on June 28th and end in Houston, Texas on August 26th.

Idol auditions require aspiring singers to pre-register one or two days before the actual singing audition takes place. Registration days are the two days before actual audition date and is listed below for each city. People who do not register will not be allowed to audition for the casting directors.

As with prior seasons – expect huge crowds and long waits. Wristbands will be given out on registration days as well as a ticket number. Those who show up without a wristband on audition day will not be allowed in.

What you need to bring:
When you arrive at the venue on one of the registration days, you MUST have two forms of ID that show
proof of your age and a photograph (for example, a birth certificate and driver’s license or a birth
certificate and a passport or a birth certificate and a school ID card) to obtain a wristband and a ticket if
you plan to have an opportunity to audition (please see Audition Rules for more details). After showing
proper ID, you will be given a wristband and a seat ticket (provided there are still some available for that
venue). You will be allowed to have one (1) person accompany you to the audition; however, THAT
PERSON MUST ALSO BE PRESENT WITH YOU DURING REGISTRATION SO THAT WE CAN ISSUE
THEM A SEAT TICKET AND WRISTBAND. Remember, if you wait until the audition day to register you
will be one of the last people to register and we may run out of space or time to accommodate you.
NO CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 5 YEARS ARE ALLOWED AT THE AUDITION VENUES.

You only need to register on one of the registration days – Once registered you will return at 5:00 AM on the audition day
Anyone under 18 must have a parent or guardian present
All attendees must have 2 forms of valid ID with them.

Also, please note that singers auditioning may only bring one guest with them.

You may have to wait outside because Idol auditions are crowded and most shows only allow the person auditioning to go into the audition area
