Auditions for “Titanic”

Auditions will be held in Louisville, CO – Performance in Boulder, Colorado – theater auditions

Titanic: The Musical
Winner of 5 Tony Awards including Best Musical, Best Book, and Best Original Score
Titanic is based on the true story of the great ship’s maiden voyage from departure in Southampton, England to the sinking in the Atlantic by an iceberg. The show touches on issues such as class, immigration and mankind’s vulnerability in the face of nature. The story follows passengers and crew-members who actually existed and were aboard the Titanic back in 1912.

Audition Times and Locations:
Friday, May 6, 2011 from 5pm to 8pm, Saturday, May 7, 2011 from 1pm to 5pm, an Sunday, May 8, 2011 from 2pm to 6pm. All auditions wil be held at The Art Underground, Louisville, CO. Callbacks will be held on Sunday, May 15, 1pm to 6pm.

To Schedule an Audition:
Please send an email to jim.freund@bvsd.org and indicate your preferred date and time. Auditions will be confirmed by email within 3 days. Please put “Audition” in the subject line of your email. Directions to audition locations and an audition form will be sent with your audition confirmation.

Audition information:
Prepare a 16-20 bar selection from a musical theater song. (DO NOT use a song from Titanic.) Bring sheet music. Piano accompaniment will be provided – no a cappella or recorded accompaniment will be allowed.

You may be asked to do one or more cold readings from the script. A familiarity with the show’s music is encouraged, but not required. Actors should not sing a song from the show for their primary audition, however callbacks will consist of music from the show.

Please bring a resume and headshot to the audition.

Who should audition:
Young adults who have completed seventh grade through age 20.

Rehearsals:
Rehearsals will begin in early June and will be held weekday evenings and weekends primarily at the Louisville Center for the Arts. A more detailed rehearsal schedule will be available at auditions

Performances:
Titanic will run from July 21 to July 30 for 8 performances at the Dairy Center For The Arts, 2590 Walnut St, Boulder, CO
