SHOW SEEKING FUN ACTORS FOR FUN SHOW – WITH STIPEND and COMPS!
The karaoke semi-finals at Jimmy’s Bar and Grill heat up when the finalists get ready to belt out their best in hopes of winning a free trip to Jimmy’s cousin’s lounge in Las Vegas! From the start nothing goes right. The emcee doesn’t show up and Jimmy is forced to run the show! This show will run in White Bear Lake during the month of June on the following dates: June 9,10,11, 16, 17, 18, 23, 24, 25. Rehearsals will be in White Bear Lake and will begin the last week in April.
Male Roles: Must be able to sing!
Jimmy – a gruff bar owner with nothing but displeasure of even the word Karaoke (This role has been cast)
Bartender – 30-55 – a Mafioso kind of guy who has connections in Vegas (or at least thinks he does) who will bet on anything.
Elvis – 20-60 – A guy who resembles Elvis and ‘channels’ him when he sings
Computer Nerd – 20-40 – His world revolves around karaoke, hardware and the latest programming available. He has only one love bigger than karaoke, and that is the city librarian.
Stephan – 25-45 – doesn’t make it into the contest but won’t give up trying! (This role has been cast)
Female Roles:
Trixie – 25-35: Jimmies love of his life – ditzy new jersey type glamour girl who made a big splash of glitz in the Las Vegas Bowling circles.
Loretta – 20-45: A country western singer who wants nothing more than to be discovered so she can get out of her double wide and onto the stage in Vegas. Former girlfriend of Jimmy’s. The relationship did not end well.
Liz the Librarian: 20-45: Liz goes from the very timid mousy librarian to the hot sizzly madonna when it’s her turn to sing!
Suzie: 20-35: Stephan’s biggest cheerleader of all – she is just sure he’s the winner of everything.
Auditions will be on Thursday, April 7 from 6-9. If you are interested please send your headshot, and your bio to: auditions@funsidetheatre.com . Once received you will be notified of the audition location. Be prepared to sing acapella, do a two minute comedy monolog and read from the script. If you come dressed like one of the characters you are trying out for you will receive bonus points!
