Talently United is getting ready for the production of the original stageplay “Color Complex”. As much as we would prefer not to talk about it, skin tone complications from the past, within the black community, still affects the psyche of blacks in America today. Journey with this group of women, from different walks of life, as they explore the segregation that exist within their own race and discover their love of self and acceptance of the fact that Black truly is Beautiful.

Character Breakdown:
Seeking Black female Actors and Dancers ages 18 and up.

Millie – Black female, 50’s+ with a slave accent.

Grace- Black female who by appearances can pass for “white” or some “exotic mixture”.

Rhonda – Black female.

Truly – Black female who is extremely proud of her African heritage.

Yolanda – Black female.

Zuri – Black female 18-30’s who yearns to be in touch with her African roots.

Bianca- “Fair-skinned” Black female 18-30’s.

Adele – Black female 18-30’s.

Unknown female – Black female.

Dancers – 4 Black female dancers.

Saturday September 29, 2012, 1-3pm

Actors: Please prepare a one minute monologue and bring a copy of your head-shot and resume.

Dancers: Please prepare a one minute contemporary dance and bring a copy of your head-shot and resume.

If you make a Left on Portland Ave SE you can park in the parking lot. Walk through the breezeway and follow the signs to the audition.
