HGTV is searching the nation for interior designers, decorators, architects, artists and those who have an eye for design, huge personalities and a desire to compete on a reality show.

Design Star is an HGTV reality competition that gives designers challenges in every episode. It is a competion reality series that eliminates the weakest designer week by week with the final person standing becoming HGTV’s Next Design Star and winning the prize.

An open call for HGTV will be taking place in Chicago, Illinois. If you are a great designer in the Chicago area, here is your chance to tryout for HGTV by attending the open auditions.

Here is what you need to bring to the event:
Two photos of yourself (labeled with your name on the back)
Resume
Your portfolio (if you have one) or a minimum of six photos of your work
Please make sure that the photos you bring are not originals as the casting directors will be keeping your photos for consideration.
So come down and tryout for a 2013 reality show. Bring all the stuff listed above as well as your personality!
