The film will be shot on location in Los Angeles, Arizona, and Sonora, Mexico.

Synopsis:
Sea of Cortez is a feature length road film that follows a Mexican-American father and his oldest son as they travel from Los Angeles, California to San Carlos, Mexico in search of a “real vacation”. However, underneath the surface of this vacation rests the declining health of the father, unresolved hostility in the son, and a strained relationship between two fundamentally different men. Straddling the line between fiction and document, Sea of Cortez is seeped in a naturalism that imbues its central characters with a low-key existential anxiety that is both subtle and realistic. Deliberately paced and heavily improvised, Sea of Cortez maintains a deadpan episodic structure inspired by such films as Two-Lane Blacktop and American Job.
