Film Title: Malachi’s Lament
Synopsis: Malachi’s Lament is the story of a troubled 15 year-old Black boy, born and raised in inner-city Detroit, who is sent to live with his unloving grandmother in the Mississippi Delta.
The film is being written and directed by Emmy-award winner, Omowale Akintunde.
Character: Malachi
Malachi is a 15 year-old Black male struggling for a sense of self, acceptance and identity while encountering a series of life-altering events. Requires a dramatic actor of extraordinary range. The actor in this role should be comfortable with use of profanity and sexual situations; dialogue amount commensurate to a leading role and 6-12 hours of on-set time. Set activity will include preparing for and performing in scenes on that day’s call sheet.
