Historic Presbyterian church in Hempstead is seeking a part-time (15 hours per week) music director/music minister.
This person will be responsible for the following:
~ Music to support Sunday worship service – hymns, anthems, praise songs and contemporary gospel
~ Providing music for special services (Christmas, Easter, New Year’s Eve, Holy Week, etc.)
~ Other services that require music e.g. funerals, weddings, etc.
~ The development of at least one choir (adult and children)
~ Weekly choir rehearsals – day of the week to be determined
~ Weekly meetings with the pastor
~ Weekly rehearsals with praise team
~ Sunday Services Contemporary & Traditional music for a blended service
~ Service begins at 10:30 a.m.
The applicant should be proficient with piano and electric keyboard and be familiar with pipe organ (3 manuals, refurbished in 1995 – Wicks Organ Co., tonal improvements 1983-84 – Richard Wallace)
Compensation – commensurate with experience
We do not pay for relocation.
