Castillo Theatre seeks the third President of the United States for an historical musical:
Sally and Tom (The American Way)
The Castillo Theatre on West 42nd Street is casting for the hit musical Sally and Tom (The American Way) which has just received a 3-week extension. Book and lyrics by Fred Newman, music by Grammy Award-winning Annie Roboff, directed by Gabrielle L. Kurlander. The play explores the love relationship between Thomas Jefferson and his slave Sally Hemings, and the contradiction at the heart of America’s founding.
The extension is scheduled for a 3-week run (April 20-May 6) at the Castillo Theatre. Strong dramatic role; trained legit musical theatre singers a must. Seeking an adventuresome, team-player who’s a quick study.
Thomas Jefferson (strong operatic tenor, 30s-50s) farmer, slave-owner, 3rd American President, a man of conflicting passions.
Auditions by appointment only. Non-equity, some pay.
