A rap battle in Liverpool with Open Mic UK is coming soon! Open Mic UK is the biggest competition for unsigned singers, songwriters, solo artists and vocal groups, and this year, for the first time, we have included a rap battle in Liverpool! This is your chance to freestyle against other rappers in an intense rap battle in Liverpool in front of music industry judges!
The auditions for this year’s Open Mic UK rap battle in Liverpool have already begun, and with over 9,000 artists entering the competition last year, this year’s competition is set to be the biggest yet! The auditions for the rap battle in Liverpool are coming to the Liner Hotel, Liverpool on Sunday 9th September 2012.

The rap battle in Liverpool is a new addition to the Open Mic UK competition. Open Mic UK is the largest national music competition for singers and solo artists in the UK, and now rappers due to the new addition of a rap battle in Liverpool! The Open Mic UK auditions travel across the country every year in search of the UK’s best singers, singer/songwriters, vocalists and rappers for our rap battle in Liverpool. Acts can perform either covers or original material and will perform live in front of an industry specialist judging panel.
Those who make it through the auditions will go on to perform across the UK in live showcases complete with an audience and judging panel in some of the UK’s most prestigious live music venues. Now, the new addition of a rap battle in Liverpool will see rappers take to the mic against each other in front of music industry judges! By entering for the Open Mic UK auditions for the rap battle in Liverpool, acts have the chance to progress through the competition to play the Grand Final at the UK’s most recognised live music venue, The O2 in London.
The audition and live showcase judging panels for the rap battle in Liverpool are made up of music industry specialists, A&R, vocal coaches and guest celebrities. Gracing the judging panel in previous years has been Radio 1’s Ras Kwame and Annie Nightingale, Another Level star Dane Bowers and R’n’B sensation and double Mobo award winner Shola Ama, who are hopefully set to make another appearance for the 2012 competition and rap battle in Liverpool!
There are plenty of opportunities for acts that enter the singing and rap audition to win prizes throughout the competition with £50,000 worth of prizes up for grab overalls, including a new main prize of £5,000 cash to the overall winner, £2,500 to the runner up and £1,000 for the remaining age category winners! The winning act will be crowned in front of a packed out crowd at The O2 in London!
The Open Mic UK competition is divided into age categories – Under 16, 17-22, and Over 23, so all ages are welcome to attend the auditions for singers and the rap battle in Liverpool.
