Attention actors/actresses, dancers and background singers:
Dallas Sound Productions, Anastasia Means-Dallas and Reaping From the Kingdom, Inc. is in need of you. We are looking for leads and understudy actors/actresses ( who can sing), dancers and background singers for our production of “The Present Day Ruth” (PDR). After a superb “SOLD-OUT” opening at Atlanta’s 14th Street Playhouse, PDR is gearing up for its Spring showing and Summer tour.
Can Ruth and Boaz weather the storms of life while their nieces Grace and Faith, or will the cares of this world cause this family’s world to be turned upside down? This play uses dance, original songs, and talented actors to retell this rarely depicted biblical story with a modern twist.

Character Breakdown:
Boaz: Uncle/Father figure to Grace and Faith.
Ruth: Aunt/Mother figure to Grace and Faith.
Naomi: Mother-in-law to Ruth. Matriarch of the family. Gives knowledge and wisdom with comedic flair.
Tia: Younger Sister to Ruth struggling with worldly ways.
Nia: Younger Sister to Ruth and twin sister to Tia. Mother to Grace and Ruth. Incarcerated.
Grace: Senior in high school struggling with not succumbing to peer pressure.
Faith: Grace’s older sister and roommate/friend with Hope and Charity. Admires her Aunt Ruth and is the voice of reason for her friends.
Charity: Roommate/Friend with Faith and Hope. Spoiled daughter of Pastor Thomas.
Hope: Roommate/Friend with Faith and Charity. Trying to find her identity.
Michael: Boyfriend of Grace Senior in high school.
Pastor Thomas: Family pastor struggling with his own secrets.
