BREAKDOWN:
On the eve of the one year anniversary of their sister Rain’s death, tasked with mailing Rain’s journal to their mother, nightclub owner Kayla and her sister Celeste raise questions about their pasts and contemplate their futures with the men in their lives as they consider opening the journal. Believing the journal holds the answers to the reason for Rain’s death, the sisters are unaware that it may also answer questions about their own lives that neither of them knew to ask.
KAYLA MORGAN, FEMALE, BLACK, 33 – 35]
Since Rain’s death, intelligent and well-poised Kayla has had nightmares she can’t remember, causing painful headaches and intimacy issues with her fiancé James. Added to the stress of preparing the journal and a package to send home is Kayla’s preoccupation with seeing James whom she hasn’t spoken to all week, and refuses to call.

KIMBERLY, FEMALE, 30 – 35]
Kimberly, the waitress, is between day jobs, but has two men to occupy her time and mind. Kayla doesn’t approve.
MATTHEW, MALE, 25-30]
Matthew, Celeste’s love interest, is a soft-spoken minister destined to be one of the greats. He loves Celeste despite her past.
JAYKE, FEMALE, 30 – 35]
Jayke, the life-of-the party bartender, is non-inhibited, loud-mouth and witty. She keeps the crowd entertained with her wild stories.
JAMES, MALE, BLACK, 35-45]
James, Kayla’s fiancé, a licensed clinician with an uptight, professional demeanor, loves her but is impatient with her current state of mind.
BRENT, MALE, 30-35]
Laid back and suave – and the other man in Kimberly’s life – Brent seems to have no care in the world except his good looks and Kimberly.
