Decked Out is an outdoor construction show that follows charismatic designer/carpenter Paul Lafrance through the process of creating backyard decks with a “creative edge” for his roster of clients. It is an entertaining, funny, irreverent show for the viewer who is fascinated with, or even mildly interested in, watching (and learning about) the creative process of designing and building impressively intricate outdoor decks and beautiful backyard spaces. Each show follows, from concept to completion, the story of a backyard makeover with a focus on the construction of the unique deck project.

I am a home owner and there is construction being done behind me. When I purchased the house in 2002 the basement was finished. On September 20, 2014 my granddaughter was home to celebrate my 70th birthday. My daughter and granddaughter live in the basement apartment. She called me to come downstairs to see something. There was piles of white cold, hard and wet
stuff growing through the carpet on the floor and through the wall. I ripped up the carpet and insulation and found a large crack in the wall. It was wet and horrible. I phoned the insurance co and was told my insurance does not cover this. I called the builder and they said the crack was already there and felt that the machines probably aggravated it. They have offered to pay for fixing the crack and I should pay for the other cracks that may cause problems. He was very nice but I will need to tear everything out and redo the basement. I have a mortgage and live on a small pension CPP and OAS. I think I can get some money from the mortgage but have not gone there yet. Not sure what the best way to go. The bank may not ok as I have no income.

Hi, we would like to be considered for Paul’s new custom build show on HGTV, Our home is 39 years old and our basement is everyday that old and dated. There is a rec. room, 2 illegal (no windows) bedrooms, a “wine” room and a bathroom. The bathroom was redone 3 years ago because it was easier than cleaning it. (We have 6 boys). Regardless, the scope of the project is overwhelming to us! Our home is a former show home back in the day on Chestermere Lake in the Town of Chestermere, 13 km. east of Calgary. We have slowly been working our way through the house but…… I’m running out of steam! Our deck is also a disaster and another show, and we are slightly west of Toronto. Anyway, now you know everything we do……Help! We need to de-kid, de- backintheday, de-clutter, and enjoy our older (soon to be upon us) years. Thanks for your consideration and have a great day! Dave and Kim and Ryan, and AJ, and Lucas, and Matthew, and Kevan, and Patrick Mi…..oops, and Rocko, Mikkelsen. Have a great day!!!!
