Auditions for the Mystery Café 2013 / 2014 Season
The nation’s oldest murder mystery dinner theater, The Mystery Café, in conjunction with New England Fun, is pleased to announce auditions for our 2013 / 2014 season.
We are seeking energetic performers for our regularly scheduled public shows, as well as occasional private and corporate work. Ideal candidates should have experience in interactive theater and improvisation as well as scripted work. Performers should be inventive, able to think on their feet and flexible in a variety of venues and situations.
We are looking for all types of performers – males and females of all ages, from ingénues to character actors. Consistency and the ability to work with an ensemble are a must. Actors are paid for each performance but rehearsal time is unpaid.
All those auditioning must perform a comic monologue and should be prepared to do some interactive performance exercises as well as cold readings. If you are singer, please also prepare 16 bars of an up-tempo, a capella song.
Auditions will take place downstairs at the Elephant & Castle Restaurant (161 Devonshire Street, Boston) on Tuesday, September 3rd from 7pm-10pm. For more information and to set up an audition time, please contact company director Shannon Lane (617-426-1999, firstname.lastname@example.org).
