What you need
Be there, in form fitting stretchy clothes appropriate for movement, already warmed up and ready to dance by 11:30
A recent headshot that we can keep (you can print it out on regular paper if you prefer)
Water and a towel
Dance shoes if you have them (jazz preferred but whatever you have is fine)
Willingness to work hard: we do not require dance experience, but we do require the willingness to work to become a professional-level dancer
What to expect
Learning choreography
A prepared piece of your own choosing – no less than 30 seconds, no more than 60 seconds. You can choreograph it yourself or learn something off the internet or a dance film, Glee, whatever. It is not for public performance, only for audition
What you should know:
This is a professional troupe and a serious commitment. We rehearse every Sunday from 11am-3pm and rehearsal is each of our first priority every Sunday morning.
We also have a conditioning program that includes strength, stamina, and flexibility work.
While we anticipate doing fundraising in the future, we are currently self-funded and all members contribute $20 per week for rehearsal fees and pay for their own costumes and travel. None of us is independently wealthy and we try to be as budget conscious as possible.

*More Cabaret is made up exclusively of plus-sized dancers. We love dancers of all sizes – this troupe is specifically about putting fat bodies on stage as a way to celebrate bodies and giving audiences an opportunity to question their stereotypes about fat bodies.
