Crowded Tub Collective, a new Chicago production company, is casting the roles of Nurse, Mercutio & Tybalt in a 7 person adaptation of Romeo & Juliet.
Our Process…
Phase One – Shakespeare Labs
We will meet on Saturdays and Sundays afternoons throughout January & February and I will coach an in depth exploration on the rhetoric and language of Shakespeare, using the R & J text. We hope to transform our selves, along with our relationship to classical text through this process; to see how far we can press our limits!. This is also the benefit offered in lieu of financial recompense for the show. A comprehensive Shakespeare intensive that will give actors skills to use in future endeavors.
Phase Two – Rehearsal
Saturdays and Sundays in March will be our time for getting up on our feet and putting all our work into practice. It’s during this time that we will bring the play to LIFE in the moment!
Phase Three -Performances
The show will run in the new Bug House Theatre on Irving Park in Chicago. Tech will be the week of April 7th – 11th. Performances will be Thursdays, Fridays, & Saturdays, at 8pm, April 11th – 27th.
