AMC Revolutionary War Series “Turn” open call in Virginia

The new AMC series “Turn” has been filming around the Richmond area for some months now.  The show began filming last April with the TV Pilot and is now in production of full episodes which are supposed to be shooting through March 2014. The show has been filming all around town and has been using hundreds of extras and Richmond is reporting a nice economy boost thanks to the filming.

The show is seeking extras in Virginia who have a look that fits into the Revolutionary war period. The TV series and its casting directors need people who can play soldiers during the Revolutionary war, both British and Colonial. The show has scheduled an open casting call for extras on the 9th.

turn” is seeking men ages 18 to 40 years old. Arvold casting is the extras casting company for the production. Along with using many extras, there have been quite a few casting calls for speaking roles as well.

near the Richmond Raceway Complex in Henrico County.

All Extras will be paid an hourly wage. Casting directors are especially interested in men with longish hair, however long hair is not a requirement. You do not need to have any experience, however, the series films Monday through Friday and extras will be needed on set anywhere from 8 to 12 hours for 1 or more days of filming. All people wanting to be cast as background / extras must have open availability. Extras may be required to be on set on short notice.

TURN is based on the novel written by Alexander Rose called Washington’s Spies. The series is about Revolutionary War soldiers who are part of a spy ring. during the war. “Turn” is one of 2 new drama series that AMC has in production, the other is “Halt and Catch Fire“.

Washington Spies

Set in the summer of 1778, show tells the story of New York farmer, Abe Woodhull, who bands together with a group of childhood friends to form The Culper Ring, an unlikely group of spies who turn the tide in America’s fight for independence.

AMC Turn Open Call Richmond

The show is written by Craig Silverstein and directed by Rupert Wyatt. The show will be released in 2014, “Turn” is scheduled to premiere on AMC on April 6, 2014.
