Play Synopsis:
What happens when a wife’s adverse sacrifices and unjust assumptions cause her to do the unthinkable? What happens when a husband’s decisions forces him to make a choice between his wife and his daughter? What happens when the one thing you thought you left in your past shows up at your front door? What do you do? What do you do when an unexpected relationship becomes fatal? What do you do when you lose the very people that you have given all of the love you had to? What do you do then? Do we start asking life why me? Do you just give up, or do you search for the strength that is hidden deep within you? “He Calls Me Rib” is a compelling piece that explores the cause and effects of one woman’s sacrifice, a husband’s love, a nephew’s kindness, and a friend’s wounded heart.

Character List:
Donavan: (30’s-40’s) A hard working husband, who loves his family but finds himself, caught up in the middle of his relationship with his wife and his daughter
Kemp: (35-40’s) The well dressed, womanizing pimp, who runs the city.
Officer Brooker: (Adult) The neighborhood cop with a desire to bring Kemp down.
