CASTING BY SUBMISSION: SF Flashmob!

DESCRIPTION: Are you an actor, dancer or acrobatic performer with some free time next Saturday and a good taste for fun? Come be a part of a high-energy, slightly goofy birthday flashmob for a Petaluma truck driver who needs your reassurance that going over the hill won’t be such a terrible thing.
We’ll learn and rehearse the routine in the afternoon of Saturday, November 22 in San Francisco, CA, then break for food before traveling to the venue. We will provide transportation to and from Petaluma (about a 45-minute drive) for the event, and you’ll be back in the city in plenty of time for a cocktail.
Book a Flash Mob is a national company, and we bring fun and spontaneous performances to people for all sorts of celebrations and events. One of the best things about working on a flash mob is your audience: since it’s free and unexpected, you end up getting a lot of people who rarely buy an arts ticket suddenly excited about dance and music.
ROLES: MOBBER: All ages and ethnicities are welcome! Seeking a total mob of around 15 performers. Comfort in your body and willingness to jump around to Queen are musts; dance training is not. We’re looking for energetic, positive actors and movers who can improvise and keep performing even if someone wheels a cart of banana flambe in front of you unexpectedly.
DANCE MOBBER: See above. If you do have dancing experience, we want to show off your skills! We’ll create soloist opportunities for you in the performance to highlight your flashiest, most explosive moves (and make sure everybody gets your name/card afterward). Soloist roles may receive monetary bonuses depending on final routine/feature.
PROCEDURE: Please email bookaflashmobsf@gmail.com with your headshot, resume, and reel (if available). Casting will be conducted by submission; soloist dancers may be asked to meet with Cara beforehand/prep a section for their features individually. Make sure to include your preferred form of contact (phone, email, etc.) Expect to hear back by Wednesday, November 19 at latest.
PAY/PERKS: $45 plus round-trip transportation between downtown SF and Petaluma. Those willing to drive (and carry other performers) will also be reimbursed for gas and their trouble. The client will receive credit information after the event. Book a Flash Mob frequently runs Bay Area events, and we LOVE hiring our veterans back time and time again.
REHEARSAL AND PERFORMANCE DATE: Saturday, November 22. Rehearsal approx. 1:00-4:00p.m.; depart for Petaluma approx. 4:45; return to SF approx 7:45p.m.
