Casting Featured Roles on “Sinister 2” in Chicago

Sinister 2 is now in production and casting a Swamp Family

Seems that the 2012 horror flick is getting a sequel. “Sinister 2” began filming in the Chicago area in early July and is still in production there. The latest casting call for the project is seeking a few people to for what the casting directors are calling “very featured roles“.

They are looking to fill the roles of a swamp mom, swamp dad and a teen. They are specifically looking for people who have a backwoods vibe. They are also in need of Caucasian extras with blonde hair and bright blue eyes as well as an overweight teen boy. The producers at Sinister 2 want a teen who is between the ages of 12 and 15.

Ethan Hawke starred in the original film, but there is not much information about who is starring in the sequel. IMDB does not yet list the cast. Sinister 2 is in production this summer and will be filming into August. The films producers at Blumhouse Productions have set a release date for August 2015. Sinister 2 has a new director in charge of the production. The word on the street is that Scott Derrickson has been replaced. “Strange” director Ciaran Foy will be heading up Sinister 2. The script for the sequel is written by Scott Derrickson, who directed the first film,  and C. Robert Cargill.

In Sinister, Ethan Hawke played the role of a struggling writer who finds a box of tapes that show families being murdered. Once he began the investigation, he came to realize that a supernatural force may be at the core of this and that his own family is now in danger and may suffer the same consequences as the families in the tapes.

The casting directors are Joan Philo and they have stated that they will only be accepting submissions from people who are local to Chicago, so please do not apply if you are not from the area.
