Lee Daniel’s new TV series “Empire” is now casting roles in scenes filming next month
Joan Philo Casting is seeking background actors to fill some gangster and security roles in scenes that may film for multiple days. The show is looking for talent that will be available in the Chicago area, where the show films, beginning the Monday after Thanksgiving and the 10 days following. Talent cast in the scenes may work one or more days depending on role and filming schedule.
Lee Daniels (“Lee Daniels’ The Butler,” “Precious”) and Danny Strong (“Lee Daniels’ The Butler,” “Game Change”) are now working on a new Television production called “Empire“. The new FOX series is in production of season 1 which will premiere on FOX in early 2015. “Empire” is described as a sexy and powerful new drama which focuses on a family that runs a hip hop music business. The show stars Terrence Howard (“Hustle & Flow”), Taraji P. Henson and Gabourey Sidibe. Howard plays Lucious, the patriarch of the family and the man at the helm of a music empire. Lucious is an ex-thug with a tainted past who rose from the streets to the top of the music business. Lucious has 3 sons and gets some bad news about his health that will force him to find a successor. Complicating the issue is his family which includes his ex-wife who spent time in prison for Lucious and is now out and going after her piece of the pie. The show promises an amazing soundtrack with original music created by hip hop producer, Timbaland.
