Synopsis: For most teens the summer break entails, unlimited hours of sleep, fun with friends, and catching up with distant family members. But for Kyla Baker, this summer is anything but fun. A summer filled with hurt, betrayal, and loneliness; Kyla tries to take this summer and move forward with her life only to be pulled back into the very same place that turned her world upside down. Friendships and relationships are challenged as she goes to confront her past, to regain strength to move forward with her life.

Character Breakdown:
Cameron Henderson (20s): Any ethnicity, tall, athletic/fit/in-shape, clean cut. Loving, charming, warm, sentimental, responsible, mature, driven, role model. Take charge attitude. Kylas boyfriend. **SINGING ROLE**

Donald Perry (16-19): Any ethnicity, average build. Ladies man, immature, yet very much aware, likeable, secure with self, the typical preachers kid. Best friend of Vincent. Comedic skills necessary.

Kierra Moore (16-20s): short-average height. Petite (not required, preferred), sarcastic, fun, over-the-top, fashion forward. Becomes much calmer when transitioned into the early adults years. Best friend of Kyla and Taylor.

Kyla Baker (16-20s): Any ethnicity, average height, medium build (not required, preferred). Loud, conceited, intelligent, sharp, straight forward, no filter, and sarcastic. Drama skills necessary. SINGING ROLE.

Lisa Baker (30s-40s): Any ethnicity, tall, slender/in-shape/fit, simple/casual woman. Loving and caring mother and wife, soft, the ideal aunt, appears oblivious a lot of times. Her strength comes from Troy, but lacks it otherwise. The wife of Troy, aunt of Kyla.

Student 1, 2, & 3 (16-19): Any ethnicity, any body type. No character depth. No drama, singing, or comedic skills necessary.

Taylor Pettiwait (16-20): Any ethnicity. No height preference. No body type preference. Fun, intelligent, silly, quiet, yet dramatic; the wild card, compassionate. Evolves into being spontaneous, louder (remains slightly dramatic), and a little calmer. The best friend of Kyla and Kierra.

Tiffany Strong (30s): Any ethnicity. Tall. Slender/fit/in-shape. Fun, energetic, consistent, quite, private, innocent, lacks sternness, semi-hip. The teacher of Kyla and her classmates.

Troy TJ Baker (18-20s): Any ethnicity. Average height. Slender body type. Quiet, nerdy, socially awkward, insecure, no fight. Evolves into finding self, still quiet, less nerdy/lame, and remains sort of disconnected. The eldest cousin of Kyla, the son of Troy Sr. and Lisa.

Troy Baker Sr. (30s-40s): Any ethnicity. Average height. Fit/in-shape. Perfect smile. Family man, patient, calm, easygoing, the good son, peace maker, overly nice, and can viewed as a push-over. The uncle of Kyla, brother of Reginald.

Tyra Baker (16-20s):Any ethnicity. Average height. No body type preference. At first Tyra is quiet, timid, a loner, calm, kind, innocent, and oblivious to some stint, like her mother, Lisa. She then evolves into a boisterous, alive, secure, happy, vocal, and a sense of self young woman. Cousin of Kyla, and daughters of Lisa and Troy.

Vincent Anderson (16-19): Any ethnicity. No height or body style preference. Playful, class clown, arrogant, narcissist, ladies man, smooth, unrealistic dreamer, could be viewed as mean. Comedic skills necessary. The best friend of Donald and a classmate of Kyla.
