The Griswolds will be making a comeback and going on another family Vacation.
A reboot of the “Vacation” franchise is now in the works and filming has begun in the Atlanta area. Tammy Smith Casting in Georgia has been handling the extras casting on the film and is looking for some middle class neighbor types for a scene filming this coming Monday.
The new Warner Bros film will be continuing the Griswold tradition of insane family vacations. “Vacation” will focus on a now grown Rusty Griswold and his family as he continues the tradition of family road trips. Ed Helms will star as Rusty Griswold, now all grown up with kids of his own. Christina Applegate joins the cast as Rusty’s wife. Also in are Chris Hemsworth (“Avengers: Age of Ultron“, “Thor“) who will be playing one of the in-laws and the family will run into Charlie Day (“It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia“) when they go rafting. Day will be playing a rafting guide. Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo do not have large roles in the new “Vacation” film, however, they are set to make some cameo appearances.
Directing “Vacation” are John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein who are also working on the film’s script. According to ComingSoon, Chris Bender, David Dobkin and Jeff Kleeman are producing the New Line / Warner Bros. film.
