The new season of “Vikings” is now filming in Ireland and there is a casting call out for kids.
“Vikings” is in production of season 3 near the Wicklow area and is in need of male twins that are around 2 years old.
The show has been filming all summer long and will premiere on History Channel in early 2015. Last month casting directors announced that they would be using thousands of extras in “Vikings” season 3 and hosted a series of open calls that drew thousands of people.
Vikings has been a solid hit for History channel. The show includes quite an international cast and is directed by Michael Hirst (The Tudors). For anyone who hasn’t seen the series… it stars Travis Fimmel as Ragnar, a Viking who has been rising to power quickly by killing the competition. His quest for land and power doesn’t seem to stop at his own lands and in season 2 the Vikings pillaged their way into England. An interview with Michael Hirst, the show’s director, mentioned that in season 3 the Vikings will be returning to England and will even make their way to France.
Well, we’re of course going back to Wessex, because we really like King Ecbert and Princess Kwentrith, she creates mayhem, which is fantastic. Ragnar and Ecbert are kind of equals, they can talk to each other and understand one another. When we go to Paris, we meet the French Emperor, whose the grandson of the great Charlemagne and his daughter. They’re both very important, because this is a story-line that isn’t going to go away. It’s a story that will go right through season 3 and then straight into season 4. It will have a huge impact on several of our leading characters.
The show also stars Clive Standen ( Rollo), Jessalyn Gilsig (Siggy), Gustaf Skarsgård (Floki), Katheryn Winnick ( Lagertha) and George Blagden (Athelstan).
The show films in the Wicklow area and they are only seeking people who live in the area or are within a reasonable driving distance.
