AUDITION NOTICE: Non-Equity Professional Children’s Musical Theater
Casting for 2 Taubenslag Productions’ Original Musicals.
Looking for musical theater performers that can interact with a kid audience for Professional Children’s Theater Touring Shows.
Must have strong singing voice and movement ability.
Must be available to rehearse in North Brunswick New Jersey beginning in late January-April. No compensation for rehearsals. Two shows performed per day in the A.M. for primary and elementary school audiences. Shows are in Queens and Staten Island. Per diem paid for show days. Transportation from North Brunswick NJ area on show days.
The Little Mermaid – Show Days April 9th & 10th.
The mischievous Little Mermaid goes on an exciting voyage to the bottom of the sea where she must be saved from the evil magic of the horrible Sea Witch who tricks Ariel into drinking poisonous potion. Ariel must convince her father that hating someone from another culture is bad – that they can live in peace and harmony if they all respect their differences. This musical based on the Hans Christian Anderson fairy tale will make audiences laugh and cry as the beautiful heroine swims deep into their hearts.
Ariel – Female (Soprano/Mezzo Soprano) Character is youthful, bubbly, innocent and lovable yet also determined and defiant against her father. Must look 16-18 years old.
Henrietta – Female (Alto/Mezzo Soprano) – Ariel’s best friend – Character is cute, fun, youthful. Must look like a teenager.
Prince – Male. African-American ethnicity. Must look late-teens to early twenties.
Beauty and The Beast – Show Days May 19th & 22nd.
Journey to the loony land of Rottingham to discover the meaning of true friendship when Beauty uncovers the heart of The Beast. The Beast must be rescued from the Witch of the Castle as she bullies him into believing that no one could ever love him. This production will make audiences laugh, cry and cheer as our Beauty looks deep within herself to see the inner beauty of the lonely Beast.
Beauty – Female lead (Alto/Mezzo Soprano) Character is youthful, bubbly, innocent and lovable. Any ethnicity. Must look late-teens to early 20’s.
The Beast – Male lead. (High Baritone) Must be able to play “larger than life” but still believable and vulnerable. Any ethnicity. Must look late-teens to late 20’s.
