Another open casting call for extras has been announced for the Leo DiCaprio Movie “The Revenant“.
The casting call will be held in the Calgary area (Lethbridge) where the movie is filming and is seeking aboriginal extras ages 16 to 60. The open call will be held in early 2015 at the Lethbridge Lodge. Those interested in being paid movie extras can come down between 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. on Jan. 10th to meet with the film’s casting directors. The film began production in Calgary at the end of September and is expected to film through the winter until April 2015.
“The Revenant” is based upon the 2003 novel by Michael Punke. “The Revenant” will be directed by Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu who also is writing the screenplay along with “Vacancy” writer Mark L Smith. The film will star Leonardo DiCaprio and there are rumors that Tom Hardy and Domhnall Gleeson will be joining him in the production. The new Dicaprio film is an adaptation of the Michael Punke novel of the same name. The story is that of a fur trapper who is set on revenge against the men he believes wronged him.
“The Revenant” follows a 19th century fur trapper named Hugh Glass, who gets mauled by a grizzly bear. Near death, the terrain makes it impossible for his colleagues to carry him back to their fort. They leave him for dead but he survives and sets out on a treacherous journey to exact revenge on those who betrayed him and left him for dead.
According to the film’s IMDB page, “The Revenant” is “the 1820’s story of a frontiersman, Hugh Glass, who set out on a path of vengeance against those who left him for dead after a bear mauling.” Of course Leonardo will be playing the lead of trapper Hugh Glass.
The film held a casting call for extras in Calgary some months back as well when it began filming in the area.
Is it only a call for aboriginals at the Lethbridge lodge? There have been people saying that there are two at the same time. Could someone clairify. Thanks!

Tried and never got a call. I got long hair, rode horses all my life. Drove 7 hours to Morley for auditions. Waste of money and time.
Just called the hotel above and they have nothing scheduled for the 10th of January as far as a casting call. Did the location changed?
