Casting call for “Law and Order: SVU” and “Chicago P.D.” crossover episode filming in the Chicago area.

NBC shows “Law and Order: SVU”  and “Chicago P.D.”  will be filming a crossover episode in early 2016 and there is a casting notice out for police types.

Casting directors for the show are seeking Chicago locals to play police officers in the episode which is filming during the first or second weeks of January 2016.  The show is seeking fit individuals who have never worked on the show. While law enforcement training is a plus, it is not necessary to be cast in the roles.

Both shows are created by Dick Wolf and currently air on the NBC network. “Chicago P.D.” focuses on district 21 of the Chicago Police Department. The series is a spin-off of the popular “Chicago Fire” series which tells the story of 2 fictional units,  uniformed cops, who deal with street crimes, and an elite Intelligence Unit that handles major crimes in the city. The Intelligence unit is headed by Sgt. Hank Voight, a tough, no-nonsense veteran cop who has a history of bending the rules. NBC also has a new show filming in the Chicago, “Chicago Med.” The shows will be returning in early January 23016 with new episodes.

Law and Order: SVU” is a long running police drama set in NYC. SVU focuses on detectives who handle Special Victims and investigate crimes perpetrated against the most vulnerable. The show’s cast includes Mariska Hargitay and Ice-T.
