Casting for Dark Comedy Film “Lock”
Lock is a short dark comedy that tells the story of a modern man yearning to reconnect with a simpler more naturalistic life.
Lock is an employee of Teletek international, the world’s largest telemarketing firm. After exhaustion with the day to day, Lock joins a camp of corporate defectors who have left their comfortable, but dull, corporate lives for an primitive community in the forest. Quickly Lock discovers that life in the corporate jungle is quite similar to the actual jungle.
We will host a casting session in September at BlueRock Studios in Baltimore MD. All selected will be given a short script for review. Please mail a resume, head shot, and reel if you have one.
ROLES INCLUDE:
1. Lock (Male / 25-30 yrs. / Any Ethnicity.) Underweight and a bit scruffy looking, he never really “fits” his surroundings. He works in the corporate sales world but feels unsatisfied.
2. Linda (Female / 31-40 yrs. / Any Ethnicity.) Has a very proper office demeanor (if slightly sardonic) and wardrobe. She is very organized and firm but still is warm and a bit motherly.
3. Mark (Male / 25-30 yrs. / Any Ethnicity.) Junior office executive acolyte and yes-man all the way, possibly hair is slightly thinning already. Tries to appear menacing at times but clashes horribly with his very meek appearance.
4. Nate (Male / 31-40 yrs. / Any Ethnicity.) Management poster boy with executive hair and three piece suit and Greek-statue physique. Very imposing with a menacing, almost cannibalistic look at times.
5. Gary (Any Gender / 41-50 yrs. / Any Ethnicity.)A mature and grown up individual with a high energy, car-salesman pitch attitude at all times, with just a hint of cannibalism.
6. Aja (Female / 25-30 yrs. / Indian.) Young and attractive, appears of middle eastern or east Indian descent. Very much a go-along to get-along office worker who cares about her job only as much as it takes to keep it.
