Casting VFW Seniors to be Paid Extras on “Billy Lynn’s Long Half Time Walk” in ATL

Ang Lee‘s new film “Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk”  is seeking to cast some Veterans.

The movie is now filming in the Atlanta area and seeking veterans and seniors, ages 50+ of all ethnicities for scenes filming in Atlanta. Extras wanted ages 50-89 to work on Saturday May 23rd. They are also seeking folks in wheelchairs for the scene.

The Ang Lee film is being shot in 3D.  “Billy Lynn” is based on  Ben Fountain’s bestselling novel about a group of soldiers who end up being the focus of a government PR campaign. The soldiers survived a battle in the Middle East which happened to be caught by news cameras that put the group into the public’s view. Billy Lynn and and the rest of the survivors in his squad are subsequently brought home by the U.S. government and sent on a promotional tour to rally support for the war effort. The tour ends with an appearance at the Thanksgiving Day  halftime show. However, the war is not over for the soldiers as they face an imminent return to the war after the promotion is completed. Almost the entire movie takes place during the day of the game, with flashes back to the underlying events and Billy’s heroism.
