Terence Winter’s (The Sopranos, Boardwalk Empire) “Vinyl” is now filming in the New York area and has a call out for talent.
Can you pull off a funky 70s look? If you can and live in the NYC area, casting directors for the new HBO Rock and Roll drama “Vinyl” may be interested in hiring you to fill some small paid roles in an upcoming episode. GWC of NYC is especially interested in men with long hair, artist types, folks with interesting faces and…. 70s “weirdo” types.
The upcoming HBO show is set in the 1970s music scene. The pilot episode is written by Terence Winter and directed by Martin Scorsese. The pilot filmed last year and was called “Untitled Rock ‘n Roll Project“. The new series got picked up for 10 episodes by HBO and season 1 of “Vinyl” is now filming. The show’s executive producers include Mick Jagger and Martin Scorsese. “Vinyl” stars Bobby Cannavale, Olivia Wilde, Ray Romano, Jack Quaid, James Jagger and Andrew Dice Clay.
The hour long Rock & Roll series will dive into the 70s world of sex, drugs and rock n roll. Set in New York City, Bobby Cannavale plays Richie Finestra, president of American Century Records. Ray Romano plays Zak Yankovich, one of Richie’s partners and Olivia Wilde plays Richie’s wife, Devon. “Vinyl” will premiere on HBO sometime in 2016. The actual release date for the show does not seem to have yet been announced.
