Auditions for Speaking Roles on AMC’s “Turn” in Virginia – Co-Star Roles Available

VA area actors have a chance to audition for principal, speaking roles on AMC’s Revolutionary war drama series “Turn:Washington’s Spies“.

AMC’s period drama series, “Turn” is now filming the new season and there is a casting call out along with character breakdowns for a new episode. The show is looking for actors who are local to the central Virginia area and available to fill a few co-star roles in episode #1.

Turn: Washington’s Spies” is now filming season 3 which will premiere in the spring of 2016.

Turn: Washington’s Spies” is set in 1778 and tells the story of America’s first spy ring. The story centers around a New York farmer named Abe Woodhull. Abe and his a group of his childhood friends come together to form The Culper Ring, an unlikely group of spies who turn the tide in America’s fight for independence and help George Washington win the Revolutionary war.

AMC “Turn” information for actors seeking speaking roles:

Actors who are cast MUST be available for fittings in Richmond, Virginia NO LESS THAN 24 HOURS prior to their 1st scheduled work date, preferably 48 hours before.

All principal (speaking) roles are either local hires (within 60 miles of Richmond, VA) or modified local hires (within 500 miles of Richmond, VA). In general, modified local hire means mileage reimbursement, lodging provided and per diem on work days only.

AMC’s television series Turn: Washington’s Spies is filming in the Central Virginia area, and Arvold Casting is seeking actors who look authentically from the Revolutionary War period for speaking roles. TURN is adapted from the nonfiction book “Washington’s Spies” by Alexander Rose. The story is centered on a band of young soldiers and civilians who were part of the secret spy ring during the Revolutionary War.

[HENRY DAWKINS] 30s – 40s, Male, Caucasian. A hulking man and a hardened criminal. Born in London. Authentic Cockney accent required.

[CAPTAIN SOBEL] 30s, Male, Caucasian. A keyed-up Patriot Privateer, Captain Sobel haggles over a deal. His accent should have a British flavor to it, somewhere between an English and an American accent, reminding us that the colonies were still very tied to England and that these families had only been here for a few generations.

[SHOVER] 30s – 40s, Male Caucasian. Shady, mischievous and ever so dangerous. His accent should have a British flavor to it, somewhere between an English and an American accent, reminding us that the colonies were still very tied to England and that these families had only been here for a few generations.

[WARDEN] Late 30s – 40s. Male, Caucasian. A judgmental and suspicious prison officer. His accent should have a British flavor to it, somewhere between an English and an American accent, reminding us that the colonies were still very tied to England and that these families had only been here for a few generations.

[SERGEANT] 30s, Male, Caucasian. Authoritative military sergeant with a traditional military look and a muscular build. His accent should have a British flavor to it, somewhere between an English and an American accent, reminding us that the colonies were still very tied to England and that these families had only been here for a few generations.

[SCOTTISH RANGER] 30s, Male, Caucasian. A member of the Queen’s Rangers. Authentic Scottish accent required.
