San Francisco Area Student Film “Swimmy”

Casting call for multiple, non-paid roles in student / indie film, Swimmy – San Francisco Bay Area

Casting for a short film, 5 min running time, about a boy (Jack) and his pet gold fish. The story is about death, life and freedom. Jack’s fish dies and the boy grieves the loss, Upon reflection Jack ponders the quality of the life the fish lived. When Jack’s mother offers to take him to get a new fish he considers the offer, after initially declining, he changes his mind. Jack goes to the pet shop to buy his fish. In the final scene, we see Jack and his goldfish, he kneels down, opens the bag with the fish and releases it into a pond. Jack stands, walks back to his bike and opens the container he used to transport the fish, revealing a hundred bags each with a goldfish, he has purchased all the fish and plans to free them.

Film is being produced for entry into a film festival and for portfolio development.
The director, Sophia Anderson, has studied at USC Film School and CalArts, and has produced and directed over a dozen short films. https://vimeo.com/user21359102/videos
