A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Our production of “ A Midsummer Night’s Dream” requires people with an understanding of the language of Shakespeare, comedic timing, and a desire to have fun and create a great show.
Auditions will be held on August 19 between 7:30 and 9:00 PM at the Bellevue Library, Room 6. Please email productions.fromthetop@gmail.com your resume and headshot to schedule an audition time.
Have a 90 second comedic Shakespearean monologue prepared for auditions.
As we are a new company, this show will very much be a creative process, with no monetary compensation but should prove to be a great deal of fun, and a wonderful experience.
AVAILABLE CHARACTERS
Hermia – Female 20-25 – Daughter of Egeus, in love with Lysander. Under 5’8”, as she must be shorter than our Helena.
Puck- Gender Neutral 20-30 – A mischievous fairy, servant of Oberon.
Oberon – Male 20-30 – King of the fairies, husband of Titania.
Demetrius – Male 20-25 – A young man of Athens, in love with Hermia and later Helena.
Egeus – Male 20-30 – Hermia’s father.
Theseus – Male 20-30 – the Duke of Athens, engaged to Hippolyta.
Hippolyta – Female 20-30 – queen of the Amazons, engaged to Theseus.
Bottom/Pyramus – Male 20-30- the weaver. Member of a traveling theatre troupe. Later turned into an ass by Puck.
Peter Quince/Prologue – Gender Neutral 20-30 – member of the traveling theatre troupe.
Francis Flute/Thisbe – Male 20-30 – member of the traveling theatre troupe.
Robin Starveling/Moonshine -Gender Neutral 20-30- member of the traveling theatre troupe.
Tom Snout/ Peaseblossom/Wall -Gender Neutral 20-25- member of the traveling theatre troupe; fairie
Snug/Lion -Gender Neutral 20-30- member of the traveling theatre troupe
Philostrate/Cobweb – Gender Neutral 20-30- attendant of the duke; fairie
*Not everyone will be called for every rehearsal. We will keep you informed as to the schedule should you be cast.
