PROJECT: ROBOX, a short film about the loss of childhood.
When a young boy’s imaginary friend (a robot made out of cardboard boxes) mysteriously disappears, the boy leaps into a fantastical journey to find him and is stalked by dark creatures along the way.
Roles:
ROBBY [GENDER: MALE, AGE: 9]
Robby is about nine years of age with a freckled face and gap between his two front teeth. His best friend is Robox, his imaginary friend. Robby has a racing imagination and it sometimes gets him to trouble.
VOICE of ROBOX [MALE]
Robox is Robby’s imaginary friend. He is a robot made out of hastily tapped together cardboard. He is Robby’s voice of reason and worries a little too much, bordering on the neurotic.
MOTHER/MOM MONSTER & FATHER/DAD MONSTER [AGE: 40s]
Robby’s parents’ relationship is strained but they care for Robby greatly. They are heard fighting with the implication that divorce is in the future.
