1. REN MCCORMACK
Vocal Range: Middle D to high C
A teenage boy from Chicago. Ren must sing and dance – and he must also be witty (good comedic timing). Ren is a cut-up, a joker who enjoys a good time.
Ages 15-17 years or 18+ to play High School age
2. WILLARD HEWITT – character baritenor
Ren’s friend, a country boy. Willard is not dumb. He is a gentle soul with quick fists, which are his defense against a world that he often has trouble comprehending.
Ages 15-17 years or 18+ to play High School age
3. CHUCK CRANSTON – Rock baritenor,
Ariel’s boyfriend. The antagonist of the play.
Ages 15-17 years or 18+ to play High School age
4. COWBOY BOB – Lead vocalist at the Bar-B-Que restaurant and dance club. (Ages 17-30)

Audition Requirements:
Please prepare 1 minute of a musical theatre song for the audition. Please do not sing from the show. Bring Sheet Music or Instrumental CD (NO IPODS OR DEVICES PLEASE). A piano accompanist will be provided but the sheet music must be in your key. NO A CAPPELLA AUDITIONS.; Bring or wear comfortable dance attire, as auditioners will be required to learn a short dance/movement combination (Adult roles will not need to do the dance audition); there will also be cold readings from the script. All those auditioning are encouraged to provide a résumé of their onstage experience when registering for auditions. Please bring a list of all potential conflicts including travel, etc.

17 Performances over 5 Weeks
Fridays and Saturdays at 8:00 PM
Sunday Matinees at 2:00 PM
Two 2:00 PM Saturday Matinees (Sept. 10 & 17)
No conflicts accepted for Performance Dates or the week before Opening
Rehearsal Dates:
Rehearsals begin June 13, 2016 and will be held
M-Th and some Fridays & Saturdays as needed.
Sunday rehearsals are not expected.
There is no pay for these roles as this is a community theater. However, the High Street Arts Center pulls in locals and talent from the surrounding areas (esp. Los Angeles) due to its highly professional productions. Please look up the High Street Arts Center on Yelp and via other search engines as well.
