Casting Call for “Killing Reagan” in Atlanta

Bill O’Reillys best seller “Killing Reagan” is being made into a movie and now casting Atlanta area talent to fill some small roles.

Another movie is being added to National Geographic’s “Killing” series. Bill O’Reiley’s “Killing Reagan” is in production and now casting in Georgia.

Atlanta area casting directors have a call out for men and women, ages 18+ who would love to work as paid background actors in the upcoming production which will be filming in Atlanta between May 23rd and the end of June. Rose Locke Casting is looking for local talent with very specific looks on this one. The film is set in the early 80s and talent applying must have some great 80s looks. The casting team has set up a page with photos of the looks they are going for and you can see those below by following the page link. The production is also looking for some older cars (1981 or earlier.)

“Killing Reagan: The Violent Assault That Changed a Presidency” is  written by Bill O’Reilly and Martin Dugard. The book recounts the attempted 1981 assassination of United States President Ronald Reagan.  The New York Times best seller did draw some criticism for being a part of the “killing” series, as no one actually killed Reagan and did create quite a bit of controversy relating to its historical accuracy as well.  O’Reiley’s book was released last fall and a week following the official book release, National Geographic announced a plan for the television movie. The production also announced that Tim Matheson and Cynthia Nixon would play Ronald and Nancy Reagan in the upcoming film.

“Killing Reagan” is a joint effort between the National Geographic Channel and Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Productions.  The movie will actually be the 5th film for the National Geographic series which includes  Killing Lincoln, Killing Kennedy, Killing Jesus, and Killing Patton.  This will be the 4th film produced by Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Productions for the  O’Reilly’s “Killing” series.  The previous films, “Killing Lincoln,” “Killing Kennedy” and “Killing Jesus” were well received and ended up being the network’s three most watched shows in history. The films “Killing Kennedy” and “Killing Jesus” also ended up receiving Emmy nominations for outstanding TV movie.
