Fearless Productions is holding auditions for SILVER DOLLAR, an Original Play by Jared Kelner.
Secrets of abuse, burried for decades, are ripped to the surface and the truth leaves the family forever changed.
After walking out on his Fiancé and his family 18 years ago for reasons unknown, Donald returns home on the afternoon of his father’s funeral, but why he’s returned is not what it seems to be.
AUDITION DATES: Thursday January 28th from 7pm-10pm and Friday January 29th from 6pm-9pm
AUDITION LOCATION: The Fearless Productions Studio at The Hamilton Stage 360 Hamilton St, Rahway, NJ 07065
PERFORMANCE DATES: Silver Dollar will be performed on Friday April 8th at 8pm, Saturday April 9th at 8pm and Sunday April 10th at 2pm
PERFORMANCE LOCATION: Silver Dollar will be performed at The Loft at the UCPAC in Rahway
CHARACTER DESCRIPTION:
DONALD (Oldest Brother, 45 – This role has already been cast): Donald is damaged, ashamed, angry, hurt, regretful, trying to make things right, aware of his flaws
LAWRENCE (Middle Brother, 43): Lawrence is a caged animal, about to explode, at his wits end, exhausted, volatile, lost, hurt, abused
WALLY (Youngest Brother, 40): Wally is damaged (physically, emotionally, psychologically), a child in a man’s body, speaks with a speech impediment and like a child due to the brain trauma he suffered as a child
KATHERINE (Lawrence’s Wife, Donald’s ex-Fiancé, 38): Katherine is empty, abandoned, selfless to a fault, at the end of her rope, longing for love she’ll never have, trying to survive one moment at a time, sad, a shell of her youthful self
WHAT TO PREPARE FOR THE AUDITION:
Please read the play (available at the links below or via email) so you are familiar with the characters, their relationships and their circumstances.
If you have one, please bring your current headshot & resume. If you do not have a current headshot & resume, it’s ok.
Bring your unique approach to the role. Take chances with your choices. Invest fully in the moment.
Various scenes from the play will be used for the audition.
Sides will be printed and available for you to review in the lobby.
If you wish to prepare a 1-minute dramatic monologue that you feel will help show what you would bring to the role you are auditioning for, please feel free to have that 1-minute dramatic monologue prepared as well.

Jared Kelner, the current Artistic Director of Fearless Productions and the Education Director of the UCPAC Acting Academy, is an actor, acting teacher, author and playwright of 2 Off-Off-Broadway plays. Jared has performed professionally on stage, tv, film and radio and is trained in various acting craft techniques (Stanislavski, Chekhov, Meisner, Adler, Strasberg, Hagen, Morris, Heller, and many others).
