Looking for a small role in Spiderman?
If you live in the Atlanta area you may just be in luck because the latest addition to the Spiderman franchise, “Spider-man Homecoming” is now filming in the ATL. The movie has been releasing new casting calls a few times a week and is interested in Atlanta locals who would like to be cast as paid movie extras, featured extras, stand-ins and photo doubles in the project.
According to previous posts and production news sites, Sony’s Spider-Man is filming under the working title “Summer of George.” The working title seems to be a nod to one of the “Seinfeld” episodes of the 90s. In the particular episode (1997, Summer of George,) George gets lazy and takes the summer off to do absolutely nothing following him losing his job. Guess we will have to wait and see how the working title relates to the upcoming Spiderman movie… if at all.
In the newest Spiderman flick, Tom Holland will be reprising his role as Peter Parker AKA Spider-Man. The new Spiderman was introduced in the last Captain America film that also happened to film in Atlanta. Some time back, Sony worked out a deal with Marvel that will allow them to borrow each others characters. Looks like Sony will be borrowing Iron Man from Marvel on this one. According to the film’s IMDB page, Iron Man will be making an appearance in “Spider-Man Homecoming.“ Robert Downey Jr. is cast to play Tony Stark / Iron Man. Marisa Tomei will be playing Aunt May. Michael Keaton, Jon Favreau and ex Disney mega star, Zendaya, are also part of the new Spider-Man cast.
Not much is known about the plot as of yet and IMDB only offers up the following description…. A young Peter Parker/Spider-Man begins to navigate his newfound identity as the web-slinging superhero. “Spider-Man: Homecoming” is set to be released next summer on July 7th, 2017.
