ACTORS – PLEASE PREPARE A MONOLOGUE THAT DOES NOT EXCEED 2 MINUTES. MAY BE
ASKED TO READ FROM THE ACTUAL SCRIPT.

SINGERS – PLEASE BE PREPARED TO SING ONE VERSE OF AT LEAST ONE SONG THAT BEST SHOWS
OFF YOUR VOICE.

DANCERS – PLEASE PREPARE A DANCE ROUTINE THAT DOES NOT EXCEED 3 MINUTES.
MAIN CHARACTERS:

LAMAR: African-American male Late30’s – Mid 40’s. Charming personality. Height: 5’10 or taller, Body Type: Average. Singing required.

SUMMER: African-American female. Early 20’s. Pretty face. Height: 5’5-5’8, nice shape. Must be a strong singer.

TRISH: African-American female, Late 30’s – Mid 40’s. Feisty, fun personality. Body type: Average. Singing desirable but NOT a must for the part.

NICKY: African-American female. Late 20’s – Mid 30’s. Articulate in speech.

KIMBERLY: Caucasian or Hispanic female, Late 20’s to mid 30’s. Height: 5’5 – 5’8.

KEITH: African-American male. 20’s – 30’s. Handsome. Height 5’9 or taller. Body type: Average.

MOM: African American female, Late 30’s to Mid 40’s. Height/Body Type: Any. Singing desirable but NOT required for the part.

6 CHILDREN: Male/Female. Any Ethnicity. Age 7-15yrs. Height/Body Type: Any. Some singing.

Sheba Jordan is a prolific writer, producer, and director who enjoys the publishing
success of a few scripts. She has directed several original stage plays
including the off-Broadway hit musical I Know I’m Somebody!
