Open Casting Call in New Orleans for Universal Picture “Girl Trip”

Casting call for Universal Studio’s Film “Girl’s Trip” now casting in NOLA.

Malcolm D. Lee (“Barbershop“, “Best Man Holiday”) is heading up the upcoming Universal project, “Girl Trip.” “Ride Along,”  ”Think Like A Man,” “Stomp The Yard” and “Straight Outta Compton” producer, Will Packer, will be executive producing the upcoming comedy through his production company, Will Packer Productions. Deadline reports that the upcoming comedy is currently untitled and using “Girl’s Trip” as their working title. So, no word yet as to whether “Girl’s Trip” will actually end up being the film’s title at release.

The movie is in production this summer in the New Orleans area and Universal just announced that it will be released in theaters on July 21st 2017, the date was was previously assigned to “Pitch Perfect 3.” Meanwhile, “Pitch Perfect 3” has set a new release date of August 11, 2017. The movie is described as a sisterhood comedy that involves a rowdy trip to the Big Easy. The movie centers on a group of lifelong girl pals who travel to New Orleans for the annual Essence Festival in order to reconnect. The trip ends up taking a walk on the wild side as they live it up drinking, dancing, romancing and maybe even getting into a brawl or two.

According to a recent Deadline story, Regina Hall, who was most recently seen in “Barbershop: The Next Cut,” is set to star. According to the project’s IMDB page, Crispian Belfrage, Suzanne Birrell-Jones and Catherine Black are also named in the cast. The film’s writers are “Black-ish” creator  Kenya Barris and Tracy Oliver (“Barbershop: The Next Cut”.)

Universal Pictures casting new film

Central casting in NOLA is looking for lots of local talent to fill many small, non-speaking roles.

Those that would like to work as paid movie extras on the project may follow the instructions below. Central will be holding open casting calls daily at their NOLA offices for those that would like to sign up to be considered in the movie.

We are beginning to start the casting for the new Universal Studios film, “Girl Trip”! This feature is being directed by Malcolm Lee (Barbershop, Best Man Holiday) and executive produced by Will Packer (Straight Outta Compton, Ride Along, Think Like A Man).  Filming will take place throughout New Orleans from July 1st through mid-August. A large part of this film surrounds Essence Fest and all of the fun throughout the city during the festival. We will be looking for all ethnicities and ages, especially African American looking who appear to be in their 30′s-50′s.

You must be registered with us to work on the movie. If you haven’t registered already, it’s FREE to do.

HOTEL – Currently casting 20’s-50’s males and females, ANY ETHNICITY, over the age of 18 to work as guests staying in an upscale hotel.

You should not have any conflicts whatsoever when you do submit such as location, call time, or transportation issues. We call people overnight or in the morning if we have cancellations and we pull from the availability list first. THE NIGHTLY AVAIL LIST IS FOR THE NEXT BUSINESS DAY ONLY.

Submitting to this list does not guarantee you work. We will utilize this list daily as needed for replacements on our projects. Please be sure though to submit each night in which you are available for work the next business day.
