Auditions for Newton (improv), 6/12 & 6/14
Theatre Momentum is holding auditions for our intensive workshop/rehearsal group, Newton. After 8 three-hour rehearsals, the Newton cast will have 7 performances at Pendulum Space. It’s essentially a free intensive based in the Improv as Theatre style.
The details:
Over the course of 7 rehearsals/workshops, you will learn the basics of the TM style from Artistic Director, Tony Rielage. This will be a crash course in Improv as Theatre, a unique style focused on performances that are believable, seamless, smart, and treat improv as a powerful tool to create instant theatre. TM also allows performers more stage time to develop characters and dialogue worthy of a scripted play, with actors creating characters they will keep for an entire 45 minute performance.
The end result of Newton will be the development of a performance designed to the specific skills of the Newton ensemble. This is a pilot program with potential for other performance or invitations down the line.
Auditions for Newton will be held on Sunday, June 12, 6:30-8:30 PM and Tuesday, June 14, 7-9 PM.
Auditioners are expected to remain the entire audition time, so please plan accordingly.
Auditions are just for Newton, and any future productions will be cast independently.
Performances are Fridays at 10 PM, August 12-September 30 (7 shows), with no show on September 2nd.
Players need not be present at every performance, and players’ schedules will be taken into consideration.
All rehearsals will be on Sunday afternoons, 3-6 PM, June 19-August 7 (no rehearsal 7/3).
Auditions and performances will be held at Pendulum Space, 1803 W. Byron St, Suite 216.
