Winter Fest 2016 is looking to cast an assortment of holiday characters for our Costa Mesa based event on December 16th – January 1st. These positions will likely be contracted and asked to work ALL 17 days of the event. Please see below for the character breakdowns, pay rates and dates/hours of operation.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWNS:
NOTE: All contracted employees must provide their own liability insurance policy
Mayor Frost: As the official Mayor of Winter Fest, Mayor Frost is a welcoming and yet playfully mischievous host. He is full of energy and loves to run around with families. As the most knowledgeable about Winter Fest, he acts as the face of the event and will make frequent announcements. Must be able to ice skate. Please send an audition video with your interpretation of this character and any jokes he might tell.
Ice Princess: The Ice Princess is a regal, elegant and beautiful Lady of Winter Fest. She roams the event, interacting with guests, taking pictures, and spreading love with every heart she touches. While she has a more subdued nature, the Ice Princess is very bubbly, inviting and excited to share her frosty kingdom to each and every guest. Ability to complete own make-up is a plus! Please send an audition video with your interpretation of this character and any catch phrases she might have. Include make-up photos if relevant.
Santa Claus: Santa Claus is a jolly man with rosy cheeks, a snow-white beard, hearty laugh and a big belly. He is filled with holiday spirit and greets each guest with excitement and joy. This performer must be fun loving, great with kids, and able to sit for long periods of time. Real beard is preferred. Please send an audition video of you reading a children’s book as Santa Claus.
Mrs Claus: Mrs. Claus is a kind hearted, soft-spoken, and welcoming hostess. She is sweet as pie and enjoys interacting individually with guest as they roam the event. She will have nightly story-time with guests as well as make announcements throughout the event. Also, she may accompany Santa Claus in the Claus Cabin for photos. Please send an audition video of you reading a children’s story as Mrs. Claus.
Elves: The Elves of Winter Fest are friendly faces that help guests get the most of their holiday experience. Elves must be lively, physically fit, respectful, and cheerful while maintaining energy throughout the event. They will play with and entertain guests, as well as show patrons around the event in a positive and up-beat way. Please send an audition video introducing yourself and showing your Elf-like character.
Costumed Character: This costumed character performer will roam the event and take photos with guests. They may be asked to make special appearances throughout the event and while regular breaks are given this performer must be physically fit and able to stand for long periods of time. Costumed character experience is a plus but not required. Please send an audition video introducing yourself.
Stilt Walkers: The Stilt Walkers of Winter Fest must have live-event experience and excitement to act as street performers. These performers will likely portray a Nutcracker or Toy Soldier- type character. While regular breaks will be given, performers must be physically fit and have endurance. Providing a stilt costume is a plus! Please send an audition video of you performing on stilts in character.
Jugglers: The Jugglers of Winter Fest must have live-event experience and excitement to act as street performers. Jugglers will portray fun, energetic, kid-friendly characters and will be asked to roam the event, interact and take pictures with guests. Must provide own gear. Please send an audition video of you performing in a holiday character.
LED Performers/Acrobats: LED and Acrobatic performers will be roaming the event offering interactive entertainment for guests. Street performers will portray fun, energetic, kid-friendly characters and should be prepared to take photos with guests. You must be welcoming, spunky and ready to spread holiday joy. Performers must provide their own gear. Please send an audition video of you performing in character.
