58-years-old. Kind, retired carpenter. Proud father to only child, Chelsea. Often works on hobby projects in his barn instead of expressing himself and handling confrontation.
Heather Heard
56-years-old. Science (astrophysics) professor at local university. Mother to Chelsea. Dedicated her life to raising her daughter and furthering her career. Extremely intelligent, yet even more emotionally disconnected than her husband.
Chelsea Heard
27-years-old. NASA astronaut. In space for the duration of the story, with some appearances over Skype.
