Deana’s Education Theater is looking to add actors to our troupe for the 2017-18 season.
DET performs shows around the topics of cyber/bullying and abusive/controlling relationships and each show wraps with a guided discussion with the audience. We have shows for all age groups beginning with Kindergarten and ranging through high school, college, and even military bases and community centers. Our mission is to spread awareness about the warning signs of negative behaviors (bullying/abuse), discuss ways in which to handle these situations, and promote healthy relationships. All training, rehearsals, and shows are paid as well as most travel.
Requirements for actors:
-Must have reliable, personal transportation
-Must be willing to travel (state, region, country, international) *Passport a plus, but not necessary
-Flexible schedule as most shows occur at schools Monday through Friday, 7am-2pm on a part-time basis
-Comfort working with young audiences
-Capable of playing a wide range of ages (Men: must be able to shave for younger roles)
-Ability to take direction
-Ability to maintain a professional demeanor when on site and with audiences
-Preference for those who are passionate about these topics and educational theatre
