SYNOPSIS/LOGLINE:
After a brother and sister escape Cuba on a makeshift raft, their lives and relationship are tested like never before.

Female, 6-10 (older if can pass as younger), Hispanic, Cuban descent a BIG PLUS, Fluent Spanish and UPDATED WORKING PERMITS Mandatory (NOTE: A considerable portion of filming will take place on the water in a raft. All safety guidelines will be adhered to, however, talent must be comfortable in and on the water for this project.)
Perla is a young, imaginative, and intelligent little girl. She asks insightful questions and while she feels she understands her brother, she misses seeing him happy. The two of them drifting in a tenuous raft from Cuba, she finds that, while she trusts her brother, she is frightened by how he is being shaped by their treacherous journey. She doesn’t recognize him and she doesn’t understand why.
