Choreographer seeks Dancers for Upcoming Project – Live Performance & Video Shoot

A Los Angeles choreographer is currently seeking dancers, ages 18+, to participate and perform in an upcoming project. The new dance will mainly include contemporary, modern and theatrical dance styles but also include an array of various styles as well. The dance will focus on the portrayal of an emotional journey and any dance styles that lend to the overall look, feel and performance will be included. Dancers will be asked to improvise and portray a character and/or feeling that may change throughout the dance.
The dance is being created for submission to a highly respected, long-standing and well attended dance festival that will be held one one day April 12-15, 2018. A video submission of the completed dance is required for submissions and will be professionally filmed. The festival offers immense exposure to entertainment professionals.
REHEARSALS
The rehearsal schedule and video shoot dates and times will be finalized once the application deadline for this project closes. Dancer availability will be taken into consideration
Rehearsals will begin Dec. 17th and most or all will be held in Sherman Oaks or within 5 miles.
Dates & Times
The start and end time to be finalized but will begin and end within 1 hour of stated time. All dancers will not be needed for the entirety of each rehearsal and/or some rehearsals entirely. Rehearsals will be a min of 1.5 hours and max of 4 hours each.

Sun. Dec. 29, 2017: 7:00-10:00pm
Fri., Jan. 5, 2018: 7:00-10:00pm
Sun., Jan. 7, 2018: 7:00-10:00pm
Wed., Jan. 10, 2018: 8:30-10:00pm
Fri., Jan. 12, 2018: 7:00-11:00pm
*Additional rehearsals will be planned for March and April 2018 if the dance is accepted into the festival. Rehearsals will be held on various Fridays and Saturdays around the same time as Dec/Jan rehearsals.*

or Sunday, Jan. 14, 2017.
Time: TBD, 4-6 hours
REQUIREMENTS
– Dancers must be 18+, team players, highly motivated, determined and have a good attitude
– Professional live performance experience (participation in college productions acceptable)
– Must have some classical training in ballet, contemporary/modern and/or jazz dance and have Int./Adv. technique and skills
– Must have performance footage showcasing ability or attend the a live audition. (Held during the first rehearsal on Dec. 17th @ 7:00pm.) You may include a video of yourself dancing in class or alone as your submission. Please limit “studio clips” to 1-2mkn. You may send up to two.
