Have you ever dreamed of playing Ralphie or one of his band of memorable friends? Do you long for an official Red Ryder Carbine Action BB gun? Do icy flag poles entice you? Are you unable to resist a triple-dog-dare? Then come audition for A Christmas Story, The Musical!
A Christmas Story, The Musical!, is launching a five-city national tour for the 2011 holiday season. The show’s producers, including Peter Billingsley, who starred as Ralphie in the original 1983 film, are holding open auditions to find the next Ralphie, his friends and classmates.
What We Are Looking For:
Exceptionally talented boys and girls ages 8-13 who sing, dance, and act to play Ralphie, his brother Randy and his band of friends and classmates. Kids should be under 4’ 11”. Boys’ voices should be unchanged. No experience is needed to audition.
How To Audition:
We will be in Chicago scouting for kids during the weekend of August 20th and 21st. To be considered for an audition appointment, send us an email with a recent picture and resume (if you have one—if not, a brief note about yourself will do) to acsmusicalcasting@gmail.com. If you have a video of yourself singing, please include that as well—it is helpful but not mandatory. Please put “Chicago” in the subject line. We look forward to hearing from you!
A Christmas Story, The Musical! begins rehearsals in Chicago October 10th.
Performances will be in Hershey, PA (Hershey Theatre, Nov. 8 – 13); Detroit, MI (Fisher Theatre, Nov. 15 – 27); Raleigh, NC (Memorial Auditorium, Nov. 29 – Dec. 4); Tampa, FL, (Straz Center, Dec. 6 – Dec. 11); and Chicago, IL (Chicago Theatre, Dec. 14 – 30).
*Kids (and their Parent/Guardian) must be available for the entire tour and must be willing and able to travel from November 8th to December 11th and then finish up the tour in Chicago from December 14th-30th. Tutoring will be provided.
This is a paying job.
